“It’s the same thing every year, absolutely PACKED with muggles” – Mrs Weasley. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Universal Orlando is a dream come true and then some! If they were opening the castle doors for rooms for rent, I’d be signed up yesterday! Pretty much the whole reason I journeyed to Florida was specifically to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Universal Orlando pretty much since it opened, but i’m glad I’d waited since I came at a time with more rides, larger sections and tons more of the phenomenon to enjoy!
When it comes to Harry Potter, it’s been a long lasting love and as soon as we hit the park, of course it was the first section we raced to. Seeing Kings Cross station and walking through the brick wall opening to Diagon Alley literally felt like you were actually inside the movie. I even said to my family, if everyone were dressed in robes, it would feel exact! The extent of realism is beyond exciting and exceptional, being able to point your wand and create your own spells, seeing things moving in the windows, buying sweets from Honeydukes, RIDING the Hogwarts Express! I was like a kid in a lollyshop, or lollyworld rather, running from shop to shop, exclaiming things like “Oh my god, they even have the jumpers Mrs Weasley knits for Christmas” or “I want the Deathly Hallows and the Time Turner necklace” or “Who’s wand shall we buy?” it’s insanity, how much is actually thought of and there.
For the true witches and wizards out there, it’s a reminder of everything you love about Harry Potter and everything The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Universal Orlando has to bring it all home. A real life Marauders Map for instance? Or an actual voice recording 3D Pop-Up Howler letter you can send to another witch or wizard (true fans) out there. Honestly it was all the little details, seeing the necklace that Malfoy uses to curse Katie, the green hourglass in Professor Slughorn’s office that runs according to the interest of the conversation. Whatever you can possibly think of, they have!
Of course the rides are amazing, purely because it further immerses you into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Seeing actual moving newspapers, the authenticity of the Goblins inside Gringotts, flying over Hagrids Hut in your own Hippogriff, seeing the Pensieve in Dumbledore’s office and flying through a Quidditch match! Love, love and even more love! I think my cheeks hurt from grinning from ear to ear all day.
I definitely had to TASTE the experience too with my own Chocolate Frog, Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans and of course BUTTERBEER!!!!!! Actually sooooo delicious. I would recommend the original as opposed to the frozen and I chose to enjoy my treats inside The Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade! Being able to ride the train both ways is amazing too because it’s a different experience each way! Aside from the overwhelming amount of muggles inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it was absolutely excellent and I would very easily live there, exploring every day and spending every cent I have to buy more and more of the magical world to keep with me!
For sure you need to get the two-park entry which allows you to ride the Hogwarts express and I would definitely do everything Harry Potter related at the start of the day as it only gets more packed as the day grows, but we virtually skipped through everything from starting it off early which of course, allows you to go back for seconds, or thirds…..or fourths. #HP4ever
