Mongkok, Mongkok, Mongkok!!! I had heard things but never had I imagined just how much shopping could be done, this is surely where credit cards come to die haha! There’s just no chance of survival! Especially when the markets will accept card – trouuuuble!!!People had also told me to expect my hotel room to be small as Mongkok was such a busy crammed up city so the rooms were generally built smaller, so I was expecting NY standards of “itty-bitty-living-space” but, surprisingly it couldn’t have been further from the truth. We had a very nice size able room, almost like a nice studio apartment and in my opinion was decorated very tastefully and correlated with the busy city style with beautiful street art pieces and decorations. The bed was sooooo comfy and soft, the couch was soft too, I mean – we have a couch in here so can’t be THAT small 😛 there was a cheeky little see-through shower into the bedroom (curtain optional) and an absolutely yummy display of fruits on our welcome platter!
Now the location….this is what it’s all about! You could not be a closer walk to all of the shopping centers like Langham Place and the market streets, I spent a little too much down on the ladies markets strips but EVERYTHING you may want to purchase you can find in Mongkok and for cheaper then chips!!There was delicious yum cha in the area and if that isn’t your thang, you can head downstairs inside Lodgewood by L’hotel Mongkok Hong Kong, for their award winning restaurant ‘canton pot’, available for dinners or private functions offering a healthy pot cuisine alternative with meats from all around the world, they even had a few Aussie selections! It was cool to walk down there and see the place settings of all the different utensils you could use – so interesting! I don’t know if my eyes deceived me, but I thiiiiink I may have also spotted a karaoke machine! Could definitely make for a fun setting!
Lodgewood by L’hotel Mongkok Hong Kong is definitely a GREAT stay! I loved the rooms, the view, the location and the design! It may be known as the crazy-crowded area of Hong Kong but it was my favourite!
