Welcome to the hustle and bustle of busy Bangkok! We chose our stay at the modern apartments of I-Sanook, a 15-minute short drive to Sukumvhit, where the nightlife is popping, the shopping malls are mountain-like and the streets never sleep!
Well, sometimes, not always, but SOMETIMES, I like to sleep…in fact I LOVE to sleep, which is why I wanted to be close, but not so close, hence the perfect neighbouring location of I-Sanook in Bangrak District! The room designs coincide with the crazy streets with almost a modern-subway station theme (as pictured) and very city-chic! You can find all walks of life from suited-up business men, to European backpackers! But not to worry, its seldom crowded – with only 160 rooms you’ve got plenty of space in Bangkok City!
Another really cool factor about I-Sanook (listen up business types and lengthy travellers!) is they are 50% hotel and 50% short-to-long term residential apartments. Who are also one of the few that offer as short as month-to-month leases, perfect for a month-long holiday or lengthy business trips, most residential apartments offering the same will only start at 6 months, but not I-Sanook, they’re on your team, ready to go, with fully furnished, stylish, spacious and still reasonably priced apartments!
They also offer a complimentary Tuk Tuk to the pier for the river cruises and taxi’s, Silom (shopping district) and night markets, china town and surrounding markets! You can sample the local iced coffee’s across the road, explore the street vendors down the street or just relax in the rooftop jacuzzi admiring the city skylines.
We stayed in the studio apartment which was incredibly cosy and delightful, infact it made it hard to get out and do things, they had everything we needed, laptop area next to a full length window with city views, and a slight view into their gym across the connecting bridge, (thanks for the reminders!) some seriously COM-FY beds, all your standard bathroom facilities and even a little kitchenette area! Not that we used it due to not being able to resist the room service menu (or prices!) they made it too easy!
The girls at reception and the restaurant on the rooftop were always lovely and helpful, ALSO from all walks of life so you don’t have to worry about language barriers either, I’m sure there is at least one lovely staff member who will speak english, french, thai, german – you name it, they’re handy with the language help!
I-Sanook is a great stay for wanting to be close, but not in your face close to the bright lights and busy streets of the city, very reasonably priced, again, one of few who offers great rates for longer or short term stays and are incredibly modern and helpful! What more could you need? I-say-yes to I-Sanook!
