New York is a city brimming with electricity, everything moves on that electric wave length, fast, exciting and BUZZING with energy! So when the city is moving so fast, your vacation days seem to be flying past even faster and you need to make the most of every moment. Which calls for accommodation right in the heart of it all, a real gem….a jewel in fact!

The Jewel Hotel is LIT-ER-AL-LY across from the Rockefeller center, so getting up to the Top of the Rock is no more than an elevator ride across the street. Victoria’s Secret is right there on the corner of 5th along with all the other hot shops you’re itching to skip down but if you’re not up for breakfast at tiffany’s you can always go to The Jewel Hotel ‘s sister hotel two stores away and enjoy a delicious buffet out on The Terrace Club with views down the hustle and bustle of 51st street! You can use your room key in the elevator and enjoy 20% off – it’s the stay that keeps giving!

During my stay I took full advantage of The  Jewel Hotel ‘s prime location, walking to Times Square, even running in the rain to Broadway to pick up my tickets for Chicago, nothing was more than a 10min walk away and just in case you wanted to go that little bit further, the subway is literally at your door step!

Room service was definitely an added bonus and unfortunately, as per usual, I didn’t take a photo because when food is that good I tend to just gobble it up and think about photos post-food-coma! But rest assured, the wine, the sweet potato fries and chicken avo sanga hit the spot!

Considering New York being renowned for small spaces, The Jewel Hotel ‘s superior room which I stayed in was very nice, with half kitchen, desk, walk-in-shower bathroom and a bed looking over two large glass windows to watch the city that never sleeps as you do!

Did I mention there’s free guest laundry too? If I had come with more than just some cabin luggage I would’ve taken full use of such a luxury but definitely one for the traveller to note!

I found The Jewel Hotel to be very aparthotel style, realistically it can be a home away from home, you can cook, work, work-out, fine dine, explore and enjoy a very easy, comfortable and accessible stay in the heart of Manhattan.

Is it truly a Jewel? Yes. Is it a gem to be discovered? Absolutely!

What an excellent review. If I end going to NYC for Thanksgiving I might have to take a look at this “jewel”.
