The best part about being based on the Gold Coast? When you want a break from the Gold Coast, you have beautiful destinations like Byron Bay at your fingertips. Well, being addicted to travel, needing a “break” or excuse to explore, waves across me a bit sooner than most. I needed to scratch my itch and wound up on a weekend getaway at the true gem – Aabi’s at Byron.

If you’re familiar with Byron Bay, Aabi’s is no more than a dangerous 3-5min walk (depending your eagerness) from Cheeky Monkeys – one of Byron’s FUNNEST nights out! A further 10 mins at most will land you at the Beach Hotel amongst the small but bustling city centre of Byron Bay. When you’re visiting Byron, walking the streets of the bohemian shops or healthy cafe choices are a must, so the location of Aabi’s is what swayed me.

But, the perks don’t stop there! Byron Bay can be a few things and can definitely draw in a crowd of variety to say the least. So just in case you’re wanting some relaxation (don’t we all) Aabi’s at Byron Bay just so happens to be adults only. Oh yes. That’s right. No kiddies bomb diving into this serenity and Bali themed pool. Just you and the sounds of the waterfall to lull you into a “I’m definitely on vacation” trance.

The rooms are really nice and large, and stocked up with various local treats. You can find Byron Bay cookies, coffee and chocolates and some seriously nice smelling toiletries.

It’s very Bali-Jungle theme, which is definitely a welcomed twist to the usual beachy style Byron Bay accommodations. Especially as somewhat of a local doing a mini getaway, it’s an awesome added touch to make you feel like you’re really on vacation, as opposed to just a more relaxed version of your home in Australia, where beach styles are neither far or few between.

The price of Aabi’s is really reasonable for a luxury accommodation spot. Being adults only could definitely work for solo travelers, couples and even backpackers wanting to indulge a little. But – just in case you wanted to get some extra savings in, I mean, really, who doesn’t love a bargain? I am pleased to tell YOU that you get 10% off the “” price, which is already discounted by mentioning “MyTravelation” in a direct email to the friendliest manager I’ve come across, Justin at

If you happen to stay, Justin knows some amazing locals hotspots that when I went, even locals asked how I knew about them! Yet another welcomed and grateful perk of being a guest at Aabi’s at Byron.
